Rectangle
click on rectangle-----> enter crossectional length(command) -----> enter
example:
rectangle ----> command: 10 -----> enter
and you will get this picture.
If you know the dimension of your rectangle just put it in command. Otherwise just drag the mouse until reach the size of rectangle that you want.
Arc
This button is functioned to make a curve shape. For example if you have 3 line that you want them to connect with arc.
click arc----->click starting point -----> click 2nd point -----> click last point
Circle
This basic shape very useful in engineering drawing. As easy example, Pipe. For this button you can make circles with desire diameter or radius.
example
How to make a circle with 10 mm diameter.
circle----->specify first point( click anywhere) ----->specify radius(command:5) ----->enter.
or
circle -----> specify first point -----> specify radius (command : d) -----> specify diameter (command: 10) -----> enter
For the second way, you just type 'd' in command when it shows you to specify radius. It means you have change not to insert radius, but diameter.
Exercise
Try make this shape using only drawing toolbar (free dimension).
OK lets stop until here for now. I think this is the only important basic you need to practice first. In next posting i will show how to trim unused part in drawing, how to draw faster using mirror function, and how to use fillet and chamfer. Keep exercising.
